I need your feedback!

Without revealing any specific details, I am creating a new CMS and have some ideas in mind for it already as well as a name, domain and a frontend/backend skin. Basically it is a general CMS that will be customizable enough where any site can use it, it will not be a free script (but will be at a low price, under $30 for sure).

I do have several ideas for it but with any script you need user feedback so I need suggestions, comments or whatever or just something you think that might work but aren't sure. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

a built in forum would be nice. Though that could be very hard. Maybe just modules to intergrate other forums such as phpbb, vbullitin, smf etc.

Thanks for the suggestions, I plan on some integrators for various forums but I need to check that out. Thank you.

I'd definately second the request to integrate third party forums such as phpbb, vb etc. While I do think that the inbuilt forums are pretty cool, most people are more comfortable with the third party ones, and the wealth of addons, hacks and config options can really enhance the community side of things.

Features by which people can submit their own ratings of games, movies etc would be great too, as well as an enhanced Top 5, Top 10 etc module.

I definately think theres a need for auto-thumbnailing, perhaps even with an in-built watermarking addition too.

Where news is concerned, I would definately love it if there was a way to have a 'main headline' that didn't involve manually coding the html template. In addition, the ability to show the last 5 headlines, last 5 comments etc etc within the game/movie summary page would be fantastic.

Thats all I can really think of for now - hope it helps!

I'll have to see, it is definately very complicating but if all people would want is signing up for the site also signs you up for the forums...that wouldn't be tough.

Rating Module is in. (for ALL articles) Possibly a top 10 in the future.

Thumbnailing will be in, watermarking is to iffy but I will have to see. In the mean time http://www.picture-shark.com - That is the best watermarking program and it is free.

All PHP stuff like showing the latest articles and such will require some sort of HTML as well as a main headline. (though in adaptcms you will edit it within the function rather than a template) 5 latest headlines would be possible (assuming you have a news section added and setup), comments listed rather in a popup will be in too.

I am still looking for suggestions however most (if not all) will likely be in the next version rather then this one, since only the frontend needs to be completed. And as mentioned, the CMS will be $20 at launch.

I'd like to see user contributions, with various options such as -submit for verification , -submit without verification, -no user contributios all changable by the admin of course.

I'd also absolutely love to see something like the Vanilla Forum Software has: at the forum entrance, if you set so, user registration is disabeled and there is a custom message, possibly a whole page or whatever. But I'd like to see this as a possible setting to affect the entire AdaptCMS website. So in other words, only registered users can login through that page and continue on to the full site, while non-registered users cant. But there would also be the option to apply for resgistration.... yadda yadda yadda.
Then, sort of like a client's area, certain parts of the site only accessable by certain users.

Anyway that's all about site access- - my favourite part :) . Thanks.

User content is in. :)

Member-only pages as well as pages (in the frontend) accessable only by certain user levels would also be interesting and may be in a future version of the CMS.

Thanks.

p.s. Post 300. :D
